AVG Free 2017 (64 bit) installation stops at 97%

AVG support just managed to fix my issue via remote. First let me say that the AVG support is amazing and they really try to fix your problem. In my case they found out that the windows security service has to be enabled before installing AVG 2017. It was THAT simple but maybe it helps others as well.

After the restart, download and run AVG Clear tool: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe . This tool will help with removing antivirus component of AVG 2017 and its traces. Open tool User Account control - click "Yes" Windows safe mode - click "No" (we cannot recommend use the tool in safe mode, because there is a problem with compability) Choose installed version (AVG Free, AVG Internet Security) Click "Uninstall" Click "Restart computer".

Please help. Since I uninstalled AVG 2017 free anti virus (64 bit) from my Win7/64 OS I am unable to get it installed again. I used all of your removal teams including AVG clear, AVG remover and AVG ResetAccess before installing it again but without success. The installation stops at 97% and all I can do is to restart the PC. The program is then running in passive mode. If I try to switch it back it does not work and it shows me AVG 2015 is still installed - however I searched every inch of my system including services and regedit entrys for anything that could be left from AVG 2015. I did not get much sleep yesterday because I am unable to reinstall AVG 2017. Please help me quick - at the moment I am completely unprotected and I don't want to reinstall my whole windows os again.
