AVG Free and Windows 10

I have just recently installed AVG FREE 2016.0.7163 onto a Wndows 10 system. I had no issues previously but then found neither the "shutdown"  nor "restart" option worked. I dug round a little and discovered that the setting for power option shutdown was sleep, has the AVG upgrade changed this?
