Initially I had problems with my incoming mail and after contacting my ISP and changing some settings, the emails are now coming in. However, I am still having problems sending and keep getting error messages. After pestering my provider, he suggested it may be my virus security If I turn off AVG before I send, there isn't a problem and the email is sent. Why is this happening, it is extremely annoying. Once I have turned it on and off and sent an email, it seems to clear and then lets me send further emails without problems.

Initially, please clarify how you access your emails. Is it through email client or browser?
Also, let us know whether you receive any error message while sending emails with AVG protection enabled. If so, share us the screenshot of it.
I use Thunderbird for emails.

I have done that but still, the first message of the day always results in the same error message and I have to turn off protection, send the message and then turn on again which is totally impractical. Usually after that, it works but not always. Any other suggestions? It is only when I try and send emails, not having problems receiving.
