AVG Free shouldn't ask for a license key.
Do you get any popup from AVG as "AVG LICENSE ERROR" ?

so i downloaded avg free. but when i run it…it just screams I need a key! plus I think it installed twice and my computer is running both

It does indeed. And it won't uninstall. I'm using avg remover now. Screw this I'm switching to avast. Your product has really gone downhill
