I recently installed AVG Free. I put password protection on it. When I click the desk top icon, it gives me the following message. I want to know if there is really something wrong or if this is just an unconventional message AVG sends out when you set a password. I have hit the cancel button each time in fear. Here's the message:
Authorization
An attempt has been make to enter a protected area of AVG (General program access). This may be a legitimate action, but could also be the result of a malware attack.
Do you want to continue?
(Select Cancel unless you are performing the action intentionally).

Thank you for the screenshot.
It looks like you have enabled the password feature of AVG.
Hence, it will prompt you to enter the password whenever you try to access AVG.
It is necessary to reinstall the program, in-order to get rid off this.
