Hello Keith.
Thank you for contacting the AVG support community.
We are sorry for the trouble caused.
Please refer to the below article and repair AVG Internet Security and check the status:

Thank you and keep us updated.
My setup is:
Windows 10 Pro Desktop computer
OE Classic 4.0 email client recently installed and IMAP account successfully set up.
AVG Free 22.12.3264 (build 22.12.7758.771)
When I attempt to send an email from OE Classic it fails with, for example, “Cannot connect to smtp server – connect error 10060”.
I temporarily disabled the Windows firewall but this made no difference. Then I temporarily stopped AVG – this allowed the email to be sent without problem.
Likewise, when OE Classic attempts to sync with my ISP server to download emails, it fails and issues error messages. Again, when I temporarily stop AVG, the operation succeeds.
I see that other users have had similar email blocking issues. I tried unticking AVG’s “Scan inbound emails (POP3,IMAP4)” and “Scan outbound emails (SMTP)” settings but this made no difference.
Thank you for writing back to us, Keith.
