Thank you for waiting.
This issue has been fixed in our latest update. Please check and let us know its status.
Guys, what with that mentioned update? AVG still doesn't see anything (except virus base) to update, and 19.2.3079 version from 6 february didn't solve the issue. You mentioned something about update 12 february but where is this update? Or maybe free user are not meant to install such bugfix?

Ok, but as I said - i didn't reinstall AVG yet, i just showed how the issue looks now.
Yesterday I noticed that AVG has bigger update, so I updated. It is 19.2.3079 version now so maybe it will solve the issue by itself.
And if not, the problem with not able to eject usb drives is not immedietly, it appears after at least one or more hours usb drive was injected and used.
Update was no help. Problem still persist.
I have found a partial workaround - the device can be warmly ejected using "Eject" function from explorer context menu (it is under format… function for chosen drive). The problem is it is only accessible for USB drives presenting themselves as removable drives. And it is next proof that no instance is blocking USB from eject except AVG.
This workaround can't be executed for other USB drives, like hard drives, because they don't present themselves as removable for Windows (system won't allow to create partitions on such drives so no manufacture sets USB hdd drives as removable). Eject function is not present in this scenario. So I can umount drive using only safe remove from tray - which is blocked.
09/17/2019 Hey, folks I just purchased a brand new computer. Everything was working great. About a week after purchase I purchased and installed AVG Ultimate Edition. Now my USB ports don't recognize any new devices or hardware that I try and to install. It is like the program is missing. ?I go in and I update the drivers on Windows and Intell (my system has an intel processor.). But the problem persists. Over the weekend I called AVD customer service to try and get resolution. I was talked down to. I was called a liar, They said ther is nothing wrong with your machine. Maybe you installed something or did something that caused the issue I was told. Now my brand new computer does not work correctly and I had to uninstall the AVG program. Ranjani I want you to elevate this situation all the way up the chain of your company. This is not just a random happending We are real people who each paid a lot of money for a new computer and now it does not work correctly. I want my computer replaced. I did not ask to become a part of this group. I should not have to deal with this issue. The AVG customer service people that "helped me" should not even have a job work with the public. They were rude and macking me the whole time. I am opting out of any contractual agreements and I am going to the new media if my issue is not resolved soon. My reference number for my call is 09242490I want my computer replaced and I don't plan to deal with your company ever again. Wes

Windows 7x64. It started after 2019-02-07. I didn't notice this earlier because i am not using pendrives all the time so it could started with 2019-01-17 when AVG made bigger update (it is notified in programs and functions of Windows 7). It seems current AVG version is 19.1.3075.
When I insert pendrive, do some short operation (copy, delete, edit) on files and try to remove it, the operation will succeed.
But if I left it plugged for some time, for example for an hour or more, even not using it, I won't be able to remove the drive even standing on my head. Windows always says can't eject usb drive because some other app is using it. The problem is nothing is using it. I have all apps closed. With Process Explorer or Unlocker app i can check there is no opened handle to any file on pendrive.
Each time I try to safely eject pendrive, system register new warning event no 225:
"Kernel-PNP, Id.225, Aplikacja \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Program Files\AVG\Antivirus\AVGSvc.exe o identyfikatorze 2020 zatrzymała usunięcie lub wysunięcie dla urządzenia USB\VID_0951&PID_1643\001A92BE6AB1BB41258C005A."
The 2019-02-07 is the first date this Kernel-PnP event is registered for AVGSvc.exe process. I can't kill AVGSvc.exe. Pendrives are also unejectable even if I logout and login on Windows account.
