AVG Free - Downloaded new version - no settings whatsoever

I recently downloaded and installed the new AVG version but on the homescreen I cannot access anything related to the anti-virus; can't start a scan, can't access settings, virus vault, history…nothing.

If I try to click the anti-virus button all I get is a prompt to buy the full version, which I do not want to do.

Once the AVG Remover Tool has done with its process. Please go to the C drive and look for a folder named as "AVG Remover" and I request you to delete it manually.

Thank you, the procedure you described seems to have solved the problem: I no longer see the popups saying the trial period has expired, and I can access the AVG user interface from Zen.

Hello there,
I am having problem with deleting AVG from my laptop, I have tried to use Remover but it cant delete folder from Program Files(86x). I am getting really anoyed with this and i need premissions to delete AVG folder. By the way the reason why i deleted avg is because i didnt get any settings for Antivirus the UI is horrible.
Thank you , and i hope i can fix this problem.

Additional information: after leaving the computer up and running for a full day (it's a laptop, so this is unusual), AVG popped up a tray reminder that the "trial period has expired".  This popup had a "remind me later" option; after clicking it, I am now able to display the User Interface of my AVG Free 2017.

I'd still want to know how to disable those "expired" popups completely, so I'm still hoping for advice or for a new version that is free of this problem.
Thanks.

I'm having the exact same problem.  I tried the suggestion to repair AVG, but it had no effect.  AVG pushed an update today, and now I only see the same control panel as the OP.  I have no way to get to settings or other options.  My email is now being checked by AVG, and I have no way to turn that off.

I have the same problem after updating AVG Free on one of my computers running Windows XP SP3.  I performed the above steps, but they didn't help: after re-installing AVG Free from Download Free Antivirus Software for PC | AVG Virus Protection, the problem persists.  I'm a happy AVG Free user for many years.  What else can I do to fix the problem?

In case it matters, in the list of installed programs I see 2 AVG-related entries: "AVG", which seems to be unused since last November (which is when I updated to AVG 2016), and "AVG Protection", whose last use is today.  Is this somehow related to the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.
