I've used the Free AVG system for 5 years with no problems. However, the last update, which was obviously quite a major one, running to 110MB + does not seem to work for some reason. I get the message that my protection is up-to-date, but also one that says that parts of it were not able to be downloaded. I am directed to an AVG web page which gives no indication of how I am to proceed to rectify this. Also the dashboard shows that my computer is not protected and is in red.
I should add that I rarely use my PC so I use a pay-as-you-go service for my data downloads. Every time I log on in the past few days AVG activates the same huge update with the same error message appearing every time ! This thing is eating up my data download limit !

to download and run the AVG Remover tool.
Please select the AVG products which are shown in the remover tool window and then start removal process.
After the remover tool process is successfully finished, restart your pc.
After the restart, manually delete the AVG Remover folder in the C drive of Mycomputer.
Now, reinstall your product and you should be fine.
