AVG Free edition

Hello - I just read on the old forum that you need to "uninstall" AVG and it will give you the option of downgrading to the FREE version.

I have to say that this strategy is brilliant on AVG's part (congrats!). Brilliant but diabolical and manipulative: Force users to upgrade to a new version which instantly implements an "opt out" instead of "opt in" system…without telling users how to opt out of the pay version (unless I missed something … or maybe I'll be told about the free option at the end of a month's worth of me not crumpling under daily(?) warnings saying I'll be in danger if i don't buy…).
Once known, the solution is quite easy though.

Thank you.

Every time I try to update AVG, the process stops with the message "there is another update proces running, complete that proces first. As far as I know there isn't a process running, at least I can't find it.
A new installation stops with the same message and removing AVG from my system also stops according to the same message. What should i do?
I'm running AVG with Windows 10.

Thanks for your reaction, Laura. I've found a reaction on the same question that (also?) works from Pablo Solo. I've manualy stopped the running windows install proces and the update for AVG was succesfully ended.
I think that I should apologize for posting my question, because the answer was already available in the community.
