Well, I can only assume, that AVG has given up on my case?
I have been a loyal customer for many years, and have been a promotor of AVG, but sadly I suppose all good things must come to an end. I can only assume that as a FREE customer I really don't matter, and if I had been a paying customer things would have been different.
Oh well, not a lot I can do?
Hello Robert,
Sorry to hear that. I appreciate your efforts. Please follow below trouble shooting steps and check if it works:
* Please search for "command prompt" in start menu of your computer, right click on it and select 'run as administrator'.
* Once command prompt is open, please enter this command "ipconfig/flushdns" (without quotes) and hit enter key.
* Then type this command "netsh winsock reset" (without quotes) and hit enter key.
Restart your PC once and use this article ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free ) to reinstall AVG Free Antivirus in your PC.
If the issue persists, please share the screenshot of error message to proceed further.

Despite all my efforts to resolve this, I still find myself with no decent antivirus program, have had to down an inferior free antivirus program? Please AVG help me.
I am not happy about remote access, just talk me through what I need to do.
Not received any email?
Will this require remote access? All I need as I have said before is the instructions to install, whatever they can do remotely I can do with instructions.
I know my way around computers, I am Microsoft Certified and A+ Qualified.

Thank you.
Was instructed to remove and reinstall followed all instructions.
Uninstall - using AVG Remover - AVG Clear - remove folders from C drive and from Program files (x86).
Rebooted system every time I removed folders. I have checked registry using Regedit and all traces of AVG are removed.
Tried again to reload AVG Free and get the same error message.
Installation failed
Sorry, we ran into a problem during initialization.
Find out what might have gone wrong.

Having no Antivirus program running is worrying and if this can't be fixed I will need to find another Antivirus program, however, I have used AVG for many years, so would miss it.
Hi, Abirami.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I have carried out all the above instructions, but sadly as you can see from the screen shot still getting same error message.
