AVG Free Firewall blocking SONOS

Thanks Martyn, going from public to private works, allows SONOS to connect.  From Internet Security, select Menu, Settings, Components, Firewall, Customize, Network profiles, then next to your listed Network select Private.

Martyn, when you say you switched your "network" from public to private, what exactly did you do and in what platform? I was using McAfee because it was provided with my new Dell, but I prefer AVG. When I switched to AVG at the end of my1 year free use of McAfee, AVG blocked SONOS. I'm not getting the message that AVG is overly concerned about this issue, but for me it is a critical work issue. Thanks.

May 2020.  I upgraded AVG to the paid for security bits.  Testing showed it was AVG causing the problem as switching off AVG allowed Sonos to connect.

The solution was

1.  Allow Sonos through as an App.

Open AVG.  Menu (Top right) > Settings > General > Blocked and allowed apps.  Add Sonos.

2.  Switch all netwotks in AVG from Public to Private.

I went Hacker Attacks > Enhanced Firewall … Firewall Options > Network Profiles…, and set all to Private.  I may only have needed to do one but I didn't test any further.

I will be uninstalling this product due to the fact that it is not possible to use my SONOS with the firewall turned on.

I'd request to allow the system rules in AVG firewall settings as described in this article to resolve the issue.

We regret for the inconvenience caused. AVG Antivirus Free doesn't have firewall feature. Please confirm whether you have installed AVG Internet Security trial version.

We appreciate your efforts, Raul. Let us attempt to modify one more firewall setting to check if it helps.
To do so : Open AVG - Menu - Settings - Full protection - Enhanced firewall - Enable 'Internet connection sharing mode' by checking it.

I have been using my SONOS and AVG Free for some time with Windows 10 and it has suddenly started blocking my SONOS system from connecting.

I have confirmed that it is the firewall by switching it off. SONOS then connects first time. When I turn the firewall back on it is blocked again. There is no Pop Up asking me to allow or block SONOS when I try to connect.

How do I configure the AVG Free firewall to allow SONOS?

But what did I open the firewall up to?

Glad to hear that the issue is resolved.
Internet Connection Sharing (ICS), allows all the devices on a local area network (LAN) to share a single internet connection.

I've put everything on "Enabled", however it's still not working, I'm afraid.
