AVG Free has locked down EXE file

In your initial post https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000Dq8A you have provided the screenshot of the threat detection and said that the restore didn't work, hence it is necessary to analyze the threat detection first.
The restore option in your case didn't work since the files infected are in the windows operating system path. Please keep checking the initial post to know about the status.

Further to my prior post, a Chat session with AVG indicated that…

I have checked with my resources and I could see that this is an ongoing issue with the quarantine. Our developers are working on it to get the issue resolved.
I had inadvertently accessed the Chat for paying customers, so AVG would not proceed further than this with my inquiry, sending me instead to the "community support" pages.
