Hi I am having the same issue. I have tried both the clean and remove tools but still see the same issue.
I am running Windows 10 64-bit, build 1703
I ham a consultant electronics engineer so I "know my way around a computer". I have used AVG Free for many years on family, friends & church computers. It always installed without a hitch until now. In April I updated my wife's laptop (she only uses it for email, writing a few docs and looking at photos - minimum computer skills). I put on Antivirus_Free_1892. I appeared to be working OK but recently reported that the virus defs were out of date. Every time I did a manual def update it reported Unknown Error. So I decided to use the AVG Cleaner to delete it and re-install it. It's OS is Win 7, has 93Gb free HDD, does not have any other antivirus program installed. The installation fails with error 0xE001050B but the computer is definitely connected to the internet via Ethernet cable to our router - I did download the cleaner & new program using the internet!!!. Any assistance would be appreciated as I have done the clean & install 4 times without success.
Hi, thank you I was able to install AVG free by using the offline installer.

Hello Michael,
I understand the inconvenience.
Try installing AVG Antivirus free 2017 version using offline installer which is available in this website: https://www.avg.com/download.prd-gsr-free as 32/64 bit.
(click here) to check whether your operating system is 32 or 64 bit.
Keep us informed about the status.
Tyler,
I certainly understand this must be a disruption. May I know the version of Mac OS and the version of AVG app installed on your PC to assist you further?
