I have exactly the same problem. I have tried all the above and still the same problem. Error Code 0xC0070643 Event exec_finished

Any help appreciated

I am trying to install free AVG and the install of AVG Protection is stuck at 86% and seems to be hung. How can I complete this?

Hello Larry.
It’s unfortunate that this has happened but please follow the below instructions and I am sure that you will be able to resolve your issue. 1) First step is to use AVG Remover tool based on your operating system ( http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218 ) and uninstall your AVG program completely. To download AVG Remover Tool please click on the following link: http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities
2) Run the downloaded tool and follow the instructions displayed on your screen.
3) Your computer will be restarted automatically. After the restart, AVG Remover will finish the uninstallation.
4) To install the program AVG Free please have a look at this article: http://avgread.me/1cvJ6DX .

No it wasnt. But I tried that one now and it gets to 73% and hangs.
