Hello Roger,
We regret the inconvenience caused. We suggest you to remove AVG traces and then reinstall a new version of your AVG program. You can remove AVG traces using remover tool( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After running AVG Remover, you may need to manually uninstall any remaining AVG applications and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. And then install AVG Antivirus Free by clicking on http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Antivirus_Free_692.exe .Thank you.

I installed AVG(Free) earlier today but then found that I could not open Internet Explorer 11.Google Chrome and Firefox unaffected.
I did a system restore and IE 11 service is now available.
I want to reinstall AVG (in place of MS Essentials)-how do I avoid the problem affecting IE 11?

I have removed AVG as you have suggested using the remover tool and deleting any other ,remaining AVG files.Internet Explorer is again available. However after reinstalling AVG (using the link given) IE 11 is only available in safe mode.Google Chrome and Firefox are available in normal use.I have not yet removed MS Essentials.What do you advise?
