Could you reset your web browser settings in Google Chrome to default and verify the status?

Hello everyone. Earlier today, my AVG AntiVirus Free keeps aborting connections to websites on Google Chrome, the majority of the websites being safe websites such as Twitter, Google and Facebook. Every message that comes up on my screen says that the connection to the website has been aborted due to a trojan virus. I also have Mozilla Firefox on my laptop, so I checked to see if AVG would detect any viruses on there. None. I also checked to see if any messages would pop up if I used Internet Explorer. None appeared either.
This has never happened before. I've been using AVG on my laptop for nearly 2 years now. Why would this be happening?
