I'm on the verge of ditching AVG. I've been using AVG free for many years. After recent update I had problems with scans hanging at 1%, and repair or uninstall not functioning. Eventually managed to uninstall and reinstall, but this installed a 30day trial of full AVG pro, which I did not want and did not activate /use any of its additional functions. This trial has now expired, An AVG screen came up saying AVG Free was being reinstated, install popup appeared and completed and requested reboot. But AVG is now unusable, as I cannot access the AVG Antivirus Free control panel, aa soon as it launches a splash panel ovewrites it telling me "Your Pro trial has expired", with only a "Buy it Now" option" ( Sorry, can't figure out how to insert a screen shot). I am dismayed at AVG's current policy of trying to bully/bludgeon me into purchasing their full product.
