AVG Free opens in IE8 - Windows XP SP3

When I ran the repair, I got an error message for MachineIDCreator.exe regarding AVG but that has been going on for a long time.  It doesn't happen very often and doesn't seem to interfere with AVG's performance, so I just ignore it and delete the report.

Event Viewer shows the following for this error :
Faulting application MachineIdCreator.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module avguidx.dll, version 2012.0.0.1, fault address 0x00028eb5.

The browser window opens as soon as AVG has loaded after I first boot the computer in the morning.  As I mentioned earlier, I have Advanced Settings set to show app offers every 3 days.   However, as I installed my latest AVG version at the end of last month and this is a recent phenomenon, your comment that "the page occurs only after a successful installation…" is puzzling, especially as it has now appeared twice in the last few days.  Incidentally, I installed the same AVG Free without Zen on my Windows 7 machine, except that it is the 64 bit version.  It was installed around the same time as the 32 bit version on my XP machine but I have not had AVG open a browser window - not even after successful installation.

Kate,  For your info, just in case that you are unaware, you can post the screenshot (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

I never use my XP computer to browse the internet for security reasons but, of course, I need the connection to enable AVG to update its virus database, but now AVG Free (without Zen) is opening IE8 and connecting to AVG's website.  This is not a popup and is something very recent.  The page displays a "Welcome to AVG" message, thanks me for using AVG, and invites me to "complete my protection" by adding a phone or a tablet ( ** see my second paragraph).  I am not happy with this behaviour;  popups are an unavoidable inconvenience, but this is not on.  How can I stop it, please?

** I have tried to insert a screenshot of the webpage, but am unable to browse to the file on my computer - I only get the option to type in a weblink.

Sorry for the confusion.
The AVG free Antivirus program remains the same for both the only different is Zen interface.
In general free version doesn't have a license number at all.
In Zen, even for paid products there is no license number, it's installation is only by entering the AVG my account.
There is no links or websites to explain the difference.
The program features remains the same whereas you can find only the Zen interface from which  you have to access the AVG Antivirus Free program.

User-added image

This time I had the "Browse" option, but not with my original post.
I have had AVG Free without Zen installed since the end of October 2016.  Prior to that, I had the version which included Zen, but as I do not have any other devices that I want to add, I chose to install without Zen when I had the opportunity.  The program may have automatically updated itself fairly recently, as the webpage has only shown up twice during the last week (I have set "every 3 days" as the time limit for ads).  I can access the dashboard and it is showing protection is up to date, although I excluded the email scanner when I installed as I do not use an email client on the XP machine.

Thank you for providing the screenshot.
We can see that the image shows the AVG webpage and it is not the program popup.
Does this webpage occurred after the installation of AVG Antivirus Free without Zen?
Is your AVG Free Antivirus completely installed, were you able to access the dashboard of AVG Free Antivirus?
