AVG free out of date

I am always being told that AVG needs to be updated.  When I try to do the update it does not work.  This has been an ongoing problem and I have asked this question before on the same subject.  I have uninstalled AVG free numerous times and the re-installed it as per the instructions I was given back in July 2017.  Is this always happening because I am using AVG free??  I want my computer protected all the time.

I am sorry to hear that the issue persists. If seems that the previous update of AVG got corrupted or failed due to connectivity issue. Please click on the below link to uninstall AVG from your computer.

I have done as you said BUT I am still being told that AVG is out Date.  There is a botton to click on that say UPDATE NOW.  I click on the button to update and it does not update. Now what???
