Hello Ian. I am sorry to hear that. Please make sure
1. Do you have required power connections to the graphics card?
2. Tried another PCIx slot ?
3. Check whether the monitor connected to the right place ?
To get back the Hibernate option please follow the below mentioned instruction :
1. Type cmd, right click on it and select Run as Administrator.
2. Once the command prompt is launched, type in the command, powercfg /hibernate on
3. This should now enable the Hibernate feature under your PC.
Sometime you may need to turn off the Hybrid sleep option to allow the hibernate option to appear under start menu.
1. Go to your Power settings and click on Change when computer sleeps.
2. Now at the next window, click the option change advance power settings, It should open the settings window.
3. Navigate to the option Sleep, under that set the option to OFF, which says allow hybrid sleep
4. Apply and it should bring the hibernate option back to your start menu.
Yesterday 'AVG free' said it had removed a threat from a web search toolbar (name? I can't remember) on my ACER 64-bit Win7 system. Then said it needed a reboot - which I did. BUT when rebooted it came back in VGA mode and will not recognize my graphics card drivers (yes I have re-installed them since) so won't run any graphics apps. Also under the 'start' button there is now no longer 'sleep' or 'hibernate' options. The system boots Ok but has been changed a lot! Any ideas please??? Thanks
