AVG is total garbage John. Uninstall it and install any other anti-virus program. Never, ever, ever use AVG. TotalAV, PCProtect, Avast and others all offer free AV software and pretty much anything is better than AVG. Stay away from these guys completely. I used to use post-it notes with the message, "This product will harm your computer," to place in stores that sell AVG. I now use business cards from Vistaprint with the same message to place near the product in stores. It's best if everybody avoids AVG.
No,
Thanks anyway.

I have AVG free 2016 installed. It repeatedly asks me to restart my computer and keeps downloading the same 108 MB update file. I have been into advanced settings and delegated the temporary files as suggested but to no avail. About six months ago, I had the same problem with AVG free 2015 and could not solve the problem but got around it by updating to 2016. Any suggestions other than reinstalling the program, I only have unbelievably slow and expensive wifi so if I have to download the program again,I might as well try a different program.
Thanks but unless you can point to a program other than yours that is causing me problems, I'll try another program. Twice in six months is too much. Perhaps if I had propper access to the internet it would be different but I only have very poor, very expensive access and I cant afford to reinstall programs every few months.
