AVG Free says I am not protected and that I am protected on the same screen?

Hello,
We’re happy to help you sort this out. What you’re describing is most likely disabled Web/Email shield, and the other component "Computer" shows protected.
If there will be any component is disabled due to AVG virus definitions updates/windows updates/third party security program/internet issues while AVG updates etc, then the AVG main Title will say "You're not protected".
In this case, I request you to repair AVG Protection (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG), update (open AVG Free Antivirus > menu > settings > update) it one more time and reboot your computer once. After reboot, please check if your AVG program is working fine.
Best regards,
Alok.
Please do not be alarmed by my name. That is simply a reflection of how insanely difficult I find this website. I'm here to ask one question, and in order to do that I had to, recreate my account, recreate my account again, confirm my account in an email, recreate my account again, log in to my account, log into my account again, And then give it a name....So, that is how I got to this point. And I'm sorry for the name if it upsets you.

Anyways. I have AVG Free. . Today it, Windows Defender, and my computer in general have all taken up big red 'X's' Which are all informing me that my computer is no longer safe from viruses and threats. They all direct me to AVG Free for the solution. So, I opened up AVG Free, and in big pink letters it says "YOU ARE NOT PROTECTED, COMPUTER PROTECTION IS TURNED OFF".

Now, to the right of that is a button that says fix it, which does nothing if I click it. Also, just below the bright pink warning there is a box with a green picture of a computer with the words "COMPUTER PROTECTED" So, it's a bit of a mixed signal.

Is AVG just screwing with me to get me to buy it's other services? Or has it actually turned off my malware protection? Or is it some sort of glitch that needs to be fixed? Please help.
Thank you for the timely response Alok. However your advice failed to help me.

I did the repair, AVG is up to date. Rebooted. Issue persists. AVG Antivirus still claims I am both protected and not protected at the same time. Meanwhile my computer's settings seem convinced I am not protected and that action is required with AVG antivirus to fix it.

Sorry, I only use one browser. But the '8' issue is a non-issue, I was mistaken. So, I appologize for that as well, I didn't wake up wanting to be a hassle, but turns out I am one anyways. Thank you and your fellow associates for trying to help with my AVG issues.
