Hello Kenneth,
We’d like to know more about what’s happening with your AVG. Please share the screenshot [http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot] of the files downloaded by AVG to check and assist further.
I have recently updated to AVG Free version 18.4.3056 (Build 18.4.3895.0) and I think that when I start up my PC AVG is downloading more than 100MB of something. My system is running Vista.
My broadband is restricted so these daily downloads can be a problem.
Have you any suggestions as to what is going on?
Thank you.

Hello Bhuvaneswari
Thank you for your reply.
I need to explain a bit more what is happening.
I viewed the network usage 1 day and was surprised at the amount downloaded.
Unfortunately I do not know what was down loaded nor am I sure which program was responsible.
I suspect AVG because of when it started and I have done some investigating.
Immediately after booting up my PC (as soon as I get keyboard access) I have been checking the network usage and it shows the high download. I have also looked on Performance Monitoring
and there has been high network activity by some entities including the letters AVG.
I will have to repeat this exercise and note the items properly to let you know the correct information.

Hello, just want to let you know that this is happened to me too
So far its happened on 5 pc after avg updated to version 18.4.3056 (build 18.4.3895.325)
I did what Kenneth did and check performance monitor
From what i see this is caused by avgsvc.exe and it's happened every startup
What I did so far
1. I turn on my pc
2. Avg virus definition got update but my internet usage will keep going till it hit more than 100mb+ usage (Usually around 130-150 mb)
3. So since virus definition already updated to latest, I turn off then I turn on my pc again
4. After it turn on again internet usage will be used again by avgsvc.exe till total internet usage hit more than 100mb+ again. Even if theres no more new virus definition.
So i dont know what avg downloading, Since based on performance monitor Avgsvc will keep using 1MB or 900KB internet speed till my total usage hit more than 100mb+
You guys probably can check this on your side.
I'm using win 7 64bit ultimate by the way
I'm gonna try to uninstall avg next to see if the problem gonna stop or not
I don't know if i should report this to avast forum or not since many problem that i have not solved by avg so far, and those problem happened on avast too
Like my schannel thread AVG Make Schannel Error | AVG happened both on avg and avast
I guess its time to change to another antivirus if avg won't fix this. Cause using 100mb of internet data every startup is so bad
I don't know if avg hacked or what. But this behavior is bad since i often turning off my pc and usually using mobile data, 100mb every startup even if theres no new update is just too much

I have just started my pc for the day and tried to use Performance Monitoring to obtain a screen print of network activity. I did manage to get a picture BUT when I checked Network downloads I found that the problem had not occurred, there was only 22MB which is more normal for me.
I suggest this post is put on hold and I will keep my download amounts under observation.
