AVG Free settings not inoperative

The error message is might be because of the previous/old AVG traces. At this time, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool (I understand that you have already reinstalled AVG using AVG Remover tool but I request you to use AVG Clear took and AVG Remover tool both) and then do a fresh installation of AVG Free Antivirus 2017. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version. Please follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool. After the computer reboots, please follow the instruction (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free) to download/install AVG Free Antivirus 2017.

Hi, I sent the diagnostic output file on the 9th November in reply to email ref case 05525192.
I replied to the email to let you know that the data had been successfully sent but I still haven't received a reply

When click on Antivirus Free and click on Menu > Settings, a big black box appears in the middle third of the screen going from top to bottom. If I click into the box, it turns white and eventually I get "AVG Antivirus is not responding". Choosing "Close the program" has absolutely no effect.

I have completely uninstalled AVG with the removal tool and rebooted, but after reinstalling, the same thing happens.
Please help Steve

We are sorry to hear that the issue persists. Please let me know if Windows updated recently in your computer.

Hi I carried out remoal and clear using the tools and re-installed AVG free. it worked ok at the start but this morning its gone back to blank black page in centre of screen.
