Hello Rob,
We regret the inconvenience caused. We would request you  to remove previously installed program traces of (AVG 2015 or AVG 2014)from your system using AVG Remover tool and then try to reinstall AVG Protection Free.
Note: If you have installed any other conflicting programs like AVAST, NORTON, McAfee or KASPERSKY  try to uninstall it.
Once you have uninstalled from your system,try to follow the steps which mentioned below.
Remover and Download:

2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.

I've been trying to uninstall avg free with no success.When I try to uninstall I get an error code 0xC0070782 and it says it can't complete the process. I can't update the program and it will not reinstall. So it's just sitting there and I can't use it and I can't get rid of it. I'm using windows 7 on my desktop with a 64 bit os. We are not tech saavy people but this is the first trouble we've ever had with avg and we've been using it for years. The avg site says to download their removal tool but I'm skeptical of that as well. When we tried to reinstall it we ended up with avg zen and had to do a system restore to get rid of that. Any advise would be appreciated

  1. Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.
    4)Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C:\ drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.
    Note : Please use the AVG Remover tool mentioned on the article to uninstall the AVG program more effectively.
