Avg free will not install on XP Pro system

Tech support told me to remove corrupt AVG FREE 2015, which I did.
I downloaded the new 32 bit avg file as directed in tech support email.
I tried to run it.  WINDOWS ERROR MESSAGE:  Windows does not recognize this file

What do I do now?
