AVG Free Windows Antivirus Pro

Good evening to you.  Soon after installing the program, I received notifications about the Luhe.Fiha and Dropper.generic bad guys, and today I got a pop-up related to "exploit Social Engineering", but as yet, I haven't seen anything about the "svchost.exe has encountered a problem …" thing.  The only reason that I assume it's a virus/malware/etc. is because of simple research I did on the message.  It seems that the repeated appearance of the "svchost.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. If you etc. … " thing has something to do with a "Windows antivirus pro" bad guy.  I'm sorry if I haven't been particularly clear from technological perspective.  As a techie, I make a good baker.  Thanks for your time.

I'm running Windows XP (I know, I know … new laptop coming in next couple of months).  I got rid of Security Essentials (no longer supported) and downloaded the AVG Free product.  It identified a couple of bad guys (including Luhe.Fiha  and Dropper.generic), and presumably banished them forever, but I noticed a recurrent pop-up … the one that says, ""svchost.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. If you were in the middle … etc."  I believe that it's related to a Windows antivirus pro thing.  3 complete scans by the AVG Free product do not appear to have gotten rid of this troublesome/worrisome beastie.  Does the AVG tool deal with this particular issue?  Thanksabunch.

Hello Clergy. I am sorry to hear that. Could you please let me know whether you have received the popup from the AVG program?
