Each time I try to follow the prompt to update my virus protection I receive error messages. "Last encountered error: invalid file signature". I have tried to repair the program via the Windows 10 "Modify/Remove" procedure without success. What next? Uninstall/reinstall?

Hello Cathleen. Many users lately have been complaining of this. Repairing AVG won't fix it. I've had that error too.
In my experience, you have to reinstall AVG to fix the problem. First, uninstall your old AVG Installation. Next, download AVG's installer from AVG's official website. Lastly, reinstall AVG on your PC.
AVG's updates should now work properly, and as a bonus, your AVG version should be updated too. The latest version of AVG is currently Software version 18.2.3046.
