Avg freezes my computer

Thank you for your reply, I have since uninstalled and re-installed AVG Antivirus twice, following the instructions with AVG Clear etc. The software installs and the 'You're protected' window appears but then, nothing responds. I cannot click on the 'continue' button or close the window with the cross.

When I open AVG to run a scan, my computer freezes, I cannot select anything within the AVG window nor anywhere else. Task Manager will open bit I cannot End Task for AVG. I also cannot uninstall AVG as it says setup is already running. Virus definition states 6 hours ago

Do you have any other antivirus or antimalware software installed on your PC? If you do, please uninstall them as this is caused due to conflict between AVG and that software.
Let us also know which version of Windows operating system are you using.

Still not responsive after reboot

No other anti-virus software, I run NordVPN

Do you mean that you're unable to navigate through the user interface of AVG Internet Security?
