Avg from desk top icon won't open

Ok ,So i clicked on my desk top icon just to run a normal scan and i seemed to be locked out !
my subscription renews in June '16 so i know this version hasn't expired  currently running on windows Vista.  I also checked my "Security settings" and it will not allow to turn on AVG  HELP!!
