Yes, activated using email address and password. In fact, this was activated some time ago and AVG technical support has preformed remote sessions repairing AVG Ultimate. It was green before. Ran AVG Scan Computer with result of no threats. However, all three Full protection items - Hacker Attacks, Privacy and Payments changed from green to red. Closed and reopened AVG, nothing changed. Ran Maintanence in PC TuneUp, nothing changed. Closed all and rebooted computer. After reboot the Privacy and Payments were green and Hacker Attacks still red. Uninstalled/reinstalled and Hacker attacks returned to green.
Hello, Leland.
Could you provide a screenshot (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of the AVG interface that says you are not protected to assist you further? Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Have AVG Ultimate Internet Security which is up to date and in force. Today the home window of that software indicated the system was unprotected from hacker threats. There was a "click here" option to "learn more." That click launched the internet and opened an AVG window which wasn't clear if AVG was trying to sell me something or if there was a failure in my installed AVG Ultimate Security. The page had a lot of sales pitch stuff about upgrading to a higher level of AVG products. I called AVG who only wanted to do a remote session on my computer. I cancelled that and am in the process of trying to determine if this is a legitimate issue or if AVG is using an installed and paid for product to generate more income. Does anyone know? Should I just ignore it?
Uninstalled/reinstalled and the red warning went away. Don't understand why the protection suddenly stopped. Don't understand why the software was launching a browser and the AVG website directing me to buy an upgraded product.
Yes, the internet conection was fine, there was no windows updating taking place and the only security program I'm aware of is AVG since Windows Defender is turned off. Everything was working fine until an AVG Computer Scan. It was right after that AVG Computer Scan that the problem started.

Thank you for the screenshot, Lee.
We appreciate your efforts. Learn more is an alternate option of help window. It will open a browser to explain about its feature and price. In case you haven't activated your paid version, it will ask you to buy full version.
AVG Ultimate is the most upgraded version. You need to activate AVG Ultimate using your email address and password. Have you logged in using your email address?
