Hi Keith,
We are sorry to hear this.
We will help you to resolve the issue.
Please check for the JEDI installer in the Quarantine folder.
Open AVG -> Menu -> Scroll down then you will find the "Quarantine folder" under "Tools"
Keep us posted.
I am running AVG Virus protection free on Windows 10.
I have just been installing Embarcadero RAD Studio 10.4.1.
A post installation task is to install additional 3rd party components, one of which is JEDI JCL and JEDI JVCL components. The JEDI installation compiles the 'actual' installer that gives the options of what versions to use. The execution of the newly compiled installer is 'trapped' by the AVG Behavior Shield. What should happen is that I turn off Behavior Shield before doing the JEDI install, but I didn't. Also what should happen is that I should pay attention to the AVG notice that it is checking the newly compiled program, but the DELPHI IDE hides the AVG popups so I didn't see it. But the JEDI installer screen does run on top of the IDE while the AVG is doing it thing - so I respond to and execute buttons on that screen (there is a very bad security hole here I would think). I don't know what worked and what didn't.
The long and short of it is that it looks like AVG has quarantined the JEDI installer in the AVAST Sandbox and won't let it run.
How do I get it out so I can complete the installation correctly?
We do not recommend removing anything from registry for security reasons.
Please add the whole installer package to or application folder to AVG exceptions.

OK. It is not listed in the quarantined list. It is 'mentioned' in the AVAST Sandbox file (along with a couple of other items.
F:\avast! sandbox\S-1-5-21-2906224191-3154320340-3675753085-1004\r379\JediInstaller.exe_{34d8f46c-efdb-11ea-9d97-902b34dd2592}
Keith, we'd request you to add the installer file to AVG exceptions list to resolve the issue.
Click this link for instructions to add an exception.
I'd quite happily do that if I could figure out where it is and exactly what it is called.
The entire process is carried out 'under the covers'. The Delphi IDE 'pulls' the installer source code from GitHub somewhere and compiles it, then executes the compiled installer.
I will commence searching, I should be able to find it somewhere, but at the moment the situation is that nothing happens. If I try to run an install, it just says process finished and doesn't do anything. If I try to run an uninstall same thing.
I'm pulling my hair out, but I'll try to stop that long enough to search for the compiled installer that should be somewhere. Might AVG have stored any info in the registry that I can clean up?
Thank you for the information, Keith.
Are you sure that you are using AVG Antivirus free or is it Avast?
Keith, could you provide the screenshot (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?&supportType=home&urlName=AVG-Create-screenshot) of Avast Sandbox window where you see the 'JediInstaller.exe' file listed?
You can post the screenshot by clicking on 'Image' symbol from 'Answer' field.
