I bought avg today. I ran all the necessary diagnostic tests and then got asked to restart my computer. This was three hours ago!

i did as it asked and on restarting have a message on my screen saying "scanning and repairing drive (C): 10% complete" but it's been stuck on 10% for 3 hrs!!! Surely this can't be right!!! 

Please se help I feel very let down, and hate that I can't speak to anyone! This is a brand new laptop which I have had a couple of days and now can't even use it cos of avg!!!
