Hello
I use AVG and my ISP is the UK company Virginmedia. On Friday morning, everything was working fine. I switched off my PC at ca 12:15pm August 28 British Summer Time. When I switched it back on at ca 9:30pm BST, I could not access any website. I found that my Internet connection was fine. However, when I attempted to access a website it said I was not connected to the Internet. I tried three browsers, all supported by AVG: Chrome, Edge and the AVG Secure browser, and several different websites.
After investigation, I traced the problem to AVG. The log of blocked connections in the past month showed that up to August 28, there were half a dozen. Then from when I logged back on at 9:30pm on Friday, there were dozens. So something has changed in the settings. I have not knowingly changed anything myself.
Now, the only way I can access the Internet (for instance to write this post) is to turn off AVG altogether, which is clearly not ideal. Any advice that you could provide on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
With thanks,
Chris.
