AVG High CPU usage

Hello Jon,

I am sorry to hear that AVG services are consuming more CPU usage on your Computer.
Please repair AVG program once as mentioned in this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG and follow the below steps to fix the issue:
Click on Menu->Settings->Troubleshooting->Uncheck "Enable AVG Self Protection Mode" and check the status.

AVG is running continuously using high CPU.  I tried turning off all the components, but that didn't make any difference.
Task Manager shows CPU Usage:
AVG Service (32 bit)  23.5%
AVG Antivirus (32 bit) 18.3%

That's over 40% of my CPU.  Any suggestions on how to lower this?
