Thank you Zbynek but that seems irrelevant. Those settings are for the small tray icons, this is about a taskbar icon that only auto-appears for half a second and shouldn't appear at all. It is most probably an .exe process that should always stay hidden but fails to.

You can add me to the list of people having this issue. I've been in touch with support and will shortly be submitting a diagnostic whatsit just in case it helps narrow down the issue. It is driving me insane. Somehow, after the most recent update, the problem seems to have become worse. It is currently so bad that I'm thinking of uninstalling.
Hello Ken, no solution yet since it's obviously a bug and there's nothing we users can do it about it. It's not a serious problem and not immediately noticeable but it can get annoying at times. You can also contact AVG support directly and ask them to fix this in their next update. I hope they are reading these forums.

Ditto – I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program. The logo appeared briefly then defaulted back to some generic windows logo. How hard can this be to fix in the new version/upgrade???
I now see avguix.exe and avgelevx.exe also use that same icon.

I've sent the diagnostic output (16 Jan). Today I managed to mouse-hover on this taskbar icon before it went away. It was named: AVG ZEN POP-UP
I have PC TuneUp 2015 (and Zen) installed and noticed this minor problem: every now and then (not very often, perhaps every 15-20 minutes or so), and AVG icon appears in the taskbar for a split second then disappears. I assume this comes from an auto-check process of the TuneUp software. Not too serious or distracting but makes kind of a bad impression on the system, as if it were hastily programmed. I am sure you can locate this and fix it.
Also, I think that if a full-screen application or game is used, this problem will force you out of full-screen mode. Not 100% sure about this but I think it happened once.

But thanks to you, they're aware of it so I guess it will be just a matter of time until they sort this issue out…Btw, did you get an update yet? I try to update mine on a daily basis, but in the end it says my Tuneup is up to date… Hmmmm…
