AVG icon went missing from System Tray

I recently installed AVG FREE version number: 16.141.7996.  The icon was in the system tray for a few days and then, it disappeared.  I went to restore it by right clicking the Start button and going to Properties and selecting the Taskbar tab and then the Customize button but, AVG is no where to be found in the Customize Notifications section so I can't select "Always show".  I found a few postings on the AVG forum when I googled "AVG System tray icon missing" but no one got a resolution to the matter even after following 7 steps on one posting or doing a clean uninstall/reinstall.  Can someone help in this matter?

I know this thread is old, however am also having this same issue. I tried to repair the AVG program and check whether it resolves the issue and it has not. Can someone help? Thanks!

I understand that you are unable to see AVG icon in system tray. Please let us know if you are able to see AVG icon from desktop and when you open AVG from desktop, does it shows on system tray? Also let us know, if you have restarted your computer and checked.

Thanks Karthikeyan for wanting to assist in this matter.  Actually, I got the answer to this question from Kishore last January.  Turns out, I had to do a repair and it worked.  Got the Icon back.
