AVG identifies itself as malware What gives?

Toshiba Satellite with W8.1, just reset to factory new and installed AVG (free)

Upon doing a scan AVG identifies one piece of malware

AVG_free.exe (itself???)

What gives?

I have a screenshot but can't see how to upload it.
