I am 100% sure that AVS ignores any exceptions I specify, even the global ones. It monitors the exception address and not only it hinders the functionality but makes using some application unusable.
Please, fix this bug at least for the other customers. It's vital for an anti-virus product.
Until then for security reasons I have no choice but to replace AVG with another similar solution.
Hello Andrei,
I understand your concern. Please be informed that if you will add the application/file to an AVG component like File Shield then the other AVG components/shields will scan that folder/file. In this case, I request you to open AVG Internet Security/AVG Free Antivirus > menu > settings > general > exception, you can add the application/files here which you do not want to be scanned.
Best regards,
Alok.
I've added a couple of exception paths in File Shield > Customize > Exceptions, like f.i. C:\Users\user0\AppData\Roaming\Spiritech\*
but AVG apparently keeps scanning folders in that location.

Thank you, Alok. What you say makes sense. I didn't say it all: AVG scans that specific exception folder while an application attempts to write to a file in there. It temporarily locks the file and by the time it unlocks it, the app will have failed to write. Hence the needed exception.
Although I would still want to include that folder in Computer scan, I'll add the exception "globally" and report back here.
