Un-checking notifications in advanced settings of AVG doesn't actually stop any notifications. I had a screen shot of the box unchecking with a notification also up, but AVG doesn't want us to be able to add images without a URL, only reason I can think of, exactly this. They don't want people to know that the notification box is just a box, it doesn't do anything.
So I think screw AVG, I don't trust companies that aren't transparent I'll uninstall it. Can't be done using their uninstall software, again like the check box it doesn't do anything apart from waste my time. Once I figured out a task with a name that has no reference to AVG was running I could finally stop it and force uninstall their adware products.
I used to recommend AVG free to everyone, never ever again. It's harder to remove than a virus and it it's adware. Stuff in the news about AVG selling off customer data, I can totally believe that from my experience, what a shady company.
