While installing AVG Anti-Virus free, please look for an option at the installation page. It will show "Welcome to Anti-Virus Free", "Continue" and "Custom installation". Do not click on any options, please look at the top right corner of that window, you can see an option with a language near ( - & x) option. Please click on it and change the language, then start the installation.

Although i have a free edition of avg in English language and the programme has no way to be changed and need your help. I have installed avg free edition 6 times and cannot get it to open in English, but it opens only in Italian
Can you please help in doing so. I have never had this problem before.

Hello Gunaseelan thanks for your reply to my quest.I have follwoed the above instructions which, were the same I received in a mail. I also made the error (that cost me 19,90) of connecting with live support. They told me that it was only fopr paid program. I have removed completely (for the 8th time) avg using the remove file sent by avg. I followed the link and downloaded a new one and lo and behold the problem is still there. I cannot change the language. It still installs in Italian and there is no way I can change it. Now, is there anyone in avg that can fix this? I have never had this problem…never…
Hope i can get some answers and actions by AVG

We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused, please be informed that AVG Express installation support is service which is offered for the users who paid for AVG products and for installation. Please uninstall your AVG Anti-Virus free using the AVG Clear tool.
1 Use the link https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe to run the AVG Clear tool.
2 Run AVG Clear tool, click Yes in the User Account control dialog.
3 Click No in the Windows safe mode dialog.
4 Select the installed version of AVG, click Uninstall, then click Restart computer.
After reboot, Open C drive -> Program files (x86) -> Delete AVG folder (1/2)
