AVG in-house admin

Shop daily on-line have had the odd problem but the problem of AVG not being able to find my PayPal payment for AVG  Internet Security 2015 is a new one. Even with PayPal contacting AVG directly to confirm that payment has been made AVG are  not able to honour the transaction because their system is not able to cope with anomalies. So, I have a PC that is unprotected and I'm £35.99 out of pocket, 36 hours on an AVG still can't sort out the problem.

Should I trust this company with providing protection for my devices?
