AVG inlimited win10x64 ransomware protection turns itself off

I think now that some programs switch off ransomware protection to unstall themselves. I reinstalled AVG AFTER some other programs and now ransomware stays on ?

Hello, George.
Ransomware Protection secures your personal photos, documents, and files from being modified, deleted, or encrypted by ransomware attacks. This feature scans for and automatically secures folders which may contain personal data, and allows you to specify which other folders you want to protect from untrusted applications. Additionally, you can specify which applications are allowed to modify the files in your folders and which applications are always blocked.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused to you with this feature turning off automatically. I would request you to repair AVG setup and check if the issue is resolved. Click on this link for instructions on how to repair AVG.

And, in the current release, AVG user Interface will update the “Last computer scan” data only if you press "Scan Computer" floating button on the dashboard, but not for any other scans. However, in the upcoming release of AVG the quick scan, deep scan and full computer scan or scheduled scan should be updated too.

I am using AVG unlimited on a win10 x64 PC. When I enable ransomware (why should I have to?) it turns itself off after a shutdown/restart. Why ?
A bug? AVG doesn't count a deep scan as a scan - the last scan indicator doesn't update
any ideas ?

there is no other security software on my PC

Thank you for the information.

Please uninstall AVG from your computer control panel, reinstall the latest version from this link http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection and check if that fix the issue.

Yes, George.

Re-installation of AVG Internet Security will fix Ransomware Protection issue. Have you tried with it?

I am sorry to hear that the issue persists.

Please check if you have any other security software installed on your computer that is conflicting with AVG.
