AVG Install stuck at 73%

Hi thank you, I managed to install it however I now keep getting messages saying AVG is currently out of date and whenever I try to update it I get the following meesage:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the file."

Tara, Did you download & run the McAfee total removal tool (http://us.mcafee.com/apps/supporttools/mcpr/mcpr.asp)?.

Hi,

I haven been trying in vain to install the free edition of AVG anti-virus on my new Dell laptop. I have followed the instructions to clear and remove all previous AVG files, as well as all pre-installed anti-virus software, in this case McAffee. After doing all this as instructed I still get the same error message:

Can you please assist?

I have done this process at least three times now.

Thanks,

Tara

Hi Alok,

I have done all of this and have got the same result. Can you please remote in, or do you have another method?

Tara, Also if in doubt have a look @ this AVG article (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-find-out-if-you-have-32-bit-or-64-bit-operating-system).
