AVG Installation Issue

I have AVG Ultimate Internet Security but my sub has expired today & I just wanted to use the free version of AVG for the time being as the renewal sub is high.  Ultimate was supposed to have reverted to the free version but this didn't happen.  Instead AVG Ultimate was constantly asking for a PC restart which I must have allowed 4 or 5 times without success.  I deleted Internet Security & Tune-Up & Protection via Programs & Features in Windows 10.  I then tried to install the free AVG version from My Subscriptions in My Account but it keeps failing saying: "Currently used product version does not support this installation.  Please uninstall current product and start installation again. Error Code 0xe001f98d".  However, there is no current version on my PC as I have deleted it.  I have now found the Remover tool which I am currently trying to see if it can remove any left-overs from the original installation.  What else can be done to solve this?  I have been an AVG user for years without any issues until now.  Thanks.

Tim,
Yes, you can uninstall the expired trial version of TuneUp using AVG Remover tool. The trial version of AVG PC TuneUp or any other AVG product is only one time use and you can re install a trial version on the same PC.

I have run the remover tool which asked for 2 re-boots to get rid of left-overs & the clear tool as well.  Both reported no trace of AVG.  I then attempted a further install of the free Anti-Virus version from My Subscriptions.  It did try to install but failed in the end with the following message: "0xC007005: The added waitable object already existed in the collection."  I've no idea what this means.  I then tried to install the free version of Tune-Up from My Subscriptions & this has worked but tells me it will expire in 29 days.  From this I have managed to install the free version of AVG Anti-Virus at last.  Will this expire in 30 days (I believe I am entitled to use this free version for as long as I wish) or is the expiration only for Tune-Up (although My Account indicates I should have unlimited access to this too).  I don't want to have this problem again next month.  Please confirm this & is there anything else I need to do?
