The message displayed in the AVG Internet Security interface is when a component is disabled. It will not show if you have the old version of Windows.
Please check if all the components are enabled.
If not, please share us the screenshot and we'll guide you to enable it.
I have purchased AVG Internet Security, downloaded it and it doesn't take - I keep getting messages that say I'm not protected. I do not have updated Windows software - I'm using old software - could this be it? I have an old laptop and don't want to purchase updated software because I use it rarely.
