Hello George,
I am sorry to know about the experience that you faced while performing update for Windows 10.
I have checked your initially post where Bhuvaneswari provided the steps to boot your PC into safe mode.
From my understanding this issue should have not appeared due to AVG.
I guess the issue might have happened due to one of the updates from Windows that you tried to perform.
I request you to contact Microsoft support regarding this issue and they can help to boot your PC.
However, if this was happened due to AVG then you can try using AVG Rescue CD as mentioned in this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-use-AVG-Rescue-CD .
Regarding the spam email suggestion given by AVG, it is due to the content of the email.

I received an answer by email to my email address from Bhuvaneswari (Customer Support) but my reply to him was bounced back. If he reads this can you please inform me of the correct email address to use. AVG said I should reply without changing the subject line so they can identify my email correctly. As I did not change anything I don't know what to do. Mr. Bhuvaneswari's answer in any case does not work, as I explained in my original email: I cannot turn the computer on so how can I restart it safely using his recommended procedure, if the first instruction is: Turn on the computer !! When I press the on/off button it attempts to start up but after 3 seconds it stops, but 1 second later it tries it again and keeps on repeating this ad infinitum unless I force it to stop.
I have further questions: How can I prevent AVG from blocking or interfering with any downloads. It should give me the option to allow it or not. I could not find anything to help me with that. Also sometimes AVG decides some email is spam but other times an email from the same sender is let through and then later again it blocks it again. Why does this happen ?
