AVG interferring with websites

AVG interfering with websites.

AOL Mail - If the 'Today on AOL' page fully loads, I cannot click through to my inbox. Once I can get through to the inbox multiple refreshes are needed to actually be able to open an email.

Attempting to log in on some sites just refreshes the page. Affected sites seem to vary - What was fine yesterday didn't work a few days ago & vice-versa.

Some sites don't fully load. Affected sites again seem to vary.

I know its AVG in conflict with the sites. I shut it off to see if I could get into my email yesterday it everything worked perfectly fine…as long as AVG was disabled.

Running:

AVG AntiVirus Free
Software version: 17.5.3022
Virus definitions version: 170818-4

FireFox 52.3.0 (32-bit) ESR (extended support release)

OS: Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

I'm fully aware of the need to move to a more recent OS, but the hardware does not meet requirements of newer OSs and, to be perfectly honest, I have no say in expensive upgrades like that for this computer.

Hello vicki,

I am sorry to hear that. I would suggest you disable AVG (Open AVG Internet Security > menu > settings > Troubleshooting > Passive Mode > Turn off the AVG Passive mode) and check if that fixed the issue.
