Hello Jean,
May I know how did you confirm that AVG Internet Security is causing this issue?
To confirm it, disable the program temporarily by following below mentioned steps:
1) Open AVG Internet Security interface.
2) Click on "Menu–>Settings–>Troubleshooting–>Passive Mode".
3) Slide cursor to turn off the protection.
Keep us informed about the status.
First of all, I apologize for blaming Internet Security for not being able to access Family Tree Maker Online from the FTM software. The error msg I get is that either there is no Internet connection or a Firewall is preventing access. Since there is an Internet connection and AVG is the only firewall that I have, I made an assumption. I'm sorry!
I did as you suggested and turned off the protection as shown in #3. That did not make any difference in being able to access the web from FTM. I should note that if I go to Mozilla FireFox, I can access the FTM online site.
I put the Passive Mode back on.
The only other software that I have that might have an influence is Malwarebytes. I went to look at Malware bytes and something has happened to it, so it's non-functional. Therefore, it cannot be the culprit.
I can't think of anything else, unless there is something running in Windows 10 that I'm not aware of. I looked at some of the things in Windows Settings, but I still haven't figured out what is where in Windows 10, so didn't really find anything helpful.
Do you have any other suggestions of what I should look for?
Just a comment - why do you use a noreply account when you've asked for more information???
Thanks,
Jean

AVG Internet Security Unlimited will not allow www.FamilyTreeMaker.com to access the web from within the software. I have added that site in both places in AVG where I can put exceptions to the rules, but I still cannot access that website from within the software. Any suggestions?
Jean,
I appreciate your valuable efforts. Since there is some issue in accessing FamilyTreeMaker.com via its application, I request you to contact that application vendor to get this issue fixed.
